| What is a pattern? | A pattern is a set of fundamental movements, mainly defence or attack, set in a logical sequence against one or more opponents. |
| Why do we perform patterns? | We perform patterns to learn sparring techniques, stances, correct facing, improve posture, focus movements, body shifting, breath control, muscle toning, learn to relax and tense muscles at the correct time and to practice techniques that are not possible during other areas of training. |
9th Kup Pattern is: |
Chon Ji, which has has 19 movements |
| Ready Position: |
Parallel ready Stance - Narani Chumbi Sogi |
| Chon Ji means Literally "Heaven and Earth" it is in the orient interpreted as the creation of the world or the beginning of human history. Therefore it is the initial pattern performed by the beginner. This pattern consists of two similar parts, one to represent Heaven the other to represent the earth. |
