Set Sparring
|
Three Step Sparring |
Sambo Matsoki |
Three step sparring is a set of pre arranged attacking and defensive techniques performed with a partner. We practice three step sparring to develop focus, distance and timing.
First the partners take their distance. On the Command Chumbi the attacker steps back into a left walking stance and performs a low outer forearm block, with a kihap (shout). When the defender is ready he also kihaps, then the attacker steps forward with a middle punch three times. The defender steps back and performs the relevant block, after the third block the defender performs the relevant counter attack.
8th Kups practice three step sparring numbers one through to four.
