Set Sparring
|
Two Step Sparring |
Ibo Matsoki |
Two Step Sparring is a more advanced form of pre- arranged attacking and defensive techniques. On the command Chumbi the attacker steps back with their right foot to form an L stance with a forearm guarding block at the same time giving a loud Kihap. the defender starts from parallel ready stance. The defender also Kihaps to indicate that they are ready. Unlike three step sparring the attack changes for each set in two step sparring. 5th Kups practice two step sparring numbers, one through to four.
|
Semi Free Sparring |
Ban Jayoo Matsoki |
At 5th Kup, Intermediate three step semi free sparring is practiced. The attacker takes up a right L-stance on the command Chumbi, whilst the defender forms a parallel ready stance. Intermediate three step semi free sparring consists of the Attacker stepping forward three times and performing any three kicks of their choice from front kick, side kick, turning kick and reverse side kick. The defender defends each kick with waist blocks and counter attacks with any hand technique relevant to their grade.
