Hosted by the TAGB, Grand Master C K Choi 9th Degree Black Belt held a series of seminars for the first time in the UK.

Grand Master Choi is the world’s leading Tae Kwon Do Master, technically the most gifted Master of his generation and one of the first pioneers responsible for spreading Tae Kwon Do worldwide.

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with one of the founding fathers of Tae Kwon Do that will probably never be repeated.

His UK seminars covered all aspects of Tae Kwon Do training; philosophical, mental and physical and were split into two one and a half hour sessions; one for yellow, green, blue and red belts
and the other for black belts.

Alec and Bethany Hopwood attended the colour belt seminar whilst instructors Peter Rudolf, Karen Rudolf and Carl Rudolf attended the black belt seminar.

The English Tae Kwon Do Championships were held at The International Centre, Telford on 28th March 2010.  Whitchurch, Malpas and Oswestry Tae Kwon Do School’s sole entry this year was 14 year old Oryan Lightning.  Although the club was down on entries for the competition this year the quality certainly was not.  Oryan battled through four tough knockout rounds to lift the trophy and to be crowned the Boys red belt middle weight English Champion.

Instructor Peter Rudolf said “This is a fantastic achievement for Oryan, he has won numerous bronze and silver medals but this is his first National Title.  I am very proud of him. Oryan is having a busy time, later this month he will be travelling to Bristol to attempt his Black Belt grading.  If he is successful he will be among the first from the Whitchurch, Malpas and Oswestry Tae Kwon Do School to graduate to Black Belt.”
