HISTORY IS MADE - FIRST GRADING AT WHITCHURCH

Whitchurch Tae Kwon Do School hosted their first grading on 6th May 2006.  The grading took place at the Whitcurch Sports and Leisure centre.  Students from Helsby and Frodsham also attended the grading making the numbers up to 35 in all.

The Grading Examiner was the North Midlands Area coordinator, Mr Brian Towndrow 6th Degree black belt.   All of the students passed, 15 out of 20 of them gaining an advanced pass, meaning that they performed exceptionally well.  This is another superb performance.

Congratulations to all who took part.

WELSH CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Welsh Championships were held at the National Indoor Athletics Arena, in Cardiff on the 21st May.  Mark McCausland became the very first competitor from either Whitchurch or Oswestry Tae Kwon Do Schools.   Mark Competed in the Men's heavy weight, yellow belt sparring division.  Although not placed on this occasion Mark put in a terrific performance and was unlucky not to progress further in the competition.

Mark was very keen to compete, arriving in Cardiff at 7:30 am!  Mark said he really enjoyed the experience and is looking forward to the next competition.  He also commented on how well the competition was organised, there were twenty areas and the whole competition was finished by 3:00pm.

Assistant Instructor, Carl Rudolf 2nd Dan, was also competing in the Cadet black belt boys, heavy weight division.  Carl was placed second after a hard fought final.

It must be a yellow belt thing!!
